Saia is a recruitable daemon from the Underworld in Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis.
Story[]
Saia had not walked the earth in a long time but was drawn to Ovis by the negative energy created by the fallen angel Shaher and the aura of the human turned Ogre, Rimmon.
Alphonse Loeher found Saia within the caverns of Rebanada. Always eager to accept a fight and revel in it, Saia fought the knight. If Lobelia was with Alphonse, she and Saia shared their mutual animosity towards each other.
Depending on the choices in the end, Alphonse and Lobelia defeated Saia and returned him to the darkness from whence he came. Alternatively if Lobelia was not in the group, Saia would either give Alphonse a Ring of the Dead before departing or join Alphonse's army to fight worthy opponents.
Gameplay Attributes[]
Saia is the one and only character in the lesser Daemon class, additionally being the only character that specializes in axes, this is in contrast to the player being able to get other angel Knights besides Lobelia. In addition to the ring of the dead, Saia also comes with the Bloody Cleaver, the most powerful axe in the game. However Lesser Daemon is considered to be a weaker class than Angel Knight; it cannot fly and gets no exclusive spells. Also unlike the unrecruitable Daemons, Lesser Daemons don't get access to all bane magic.
Thus the player must choose whether they want a unique unit (Saia) with the most powerful axe or a more powerful unit (Lobelia) in a generic class.
However the player is able to trick by game by killing Lobelia and turning her into a ghost, then reviving her back to human form and eventually turning her back into an Angel Knight. If this is done, Lobelia will regain her original class but use a generic sprite and lose story relevance. With this oversight, it is possible to obtain both Saia and Lobelia in the player army.
