Rugale is a non-playable character in Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber.
History[]
Rugale the Martyr was a Knight Templar of Lodis and a commander of the Brigade of the Radiant Cross. A devout follower of the sun god Filarhh, he led the detachment of templar that defended Castle Echel in the Gules Hills, an important fortress that guarded the roads from the eastern and southern regions to Latium.
After the Chaos Gate at the Temple of Berthe was opened and the denizens of the Netherworld were unleashed upon Palatinus, Rugale (along with the rest of the Brigade of the Radiant Cross) believed that the Palatinean Revolutionary Army was consorting with the demons.
When the Blue Knights attacked Castle Echel, Rugale accused them of being heretics for allying with the Netherworlders. He would not listen to their explanation that, in fact, his superiors in the Caliginous Order were responsible for releasing the demons. He fought the Blue Knights, but was slain. With his dying breaths Rugale held firmly to his belief, telling the Blue Knights that their heretic ways would bring about the Ogre Battle and the end of the world.
