Procus Dulmare, also known as King Dulmare or Procus the Mad, is a non-playable character in Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber.
Procus is the King of Palatinus, and father of Amrius Dulmare and Yumil Dulmare.
Story[]
Procus' wife passed away giving birth to Yumil. Ever since then, he has hated his son, and at one point, employed an assassin to kill the boy. However, the attack was thwarted by Yumil's bodyguard, Ankiseth Gallant.
Procus pledged allegiance to the foreign threat of the Holy Lodissian Empire, in a deal that allowed him to keep his throne and limited autonomy. He resents the accord, but lacks the courage or conviction to oppose Lodis openly. Instead, he began secretly investigating the ultimate power of the Progenitor, by sending Kerikov Barthes to seize control of the Eastern Orthodox Church. The plan was eventually bungled due to the rash actions of Prince Amrius and the intervention of the Revolutionary Army.
Both Procus and Amrius succumbed to the infernal aura, gaining the Netherworld's power and giving their hearts to darkness. They used their strength to drive Lodis' envoys from the palace. As the Revolutionary Army drew close, Yumil appeared before Procus as the Child of the Covenant, overpowering his father and taking control of the kingdom. Procus dies shortly afterwards, either vanquished by Yumil, or slain by the encroaching army.
