A light novel adaptation (ISBN 4-8402-1615-0) of the game Legend of Ogre Battle Gaiden: Prince of Zenobia was published as part of a limited edition release of the game.
The novel was written by Masaru Takeuchi(ja), who has also written books on games such as Star Ocean: Blue Sphere and Ultima V. It was published by Mediaworks. The cover art was drawn by SNK's Eisuke Ogura, the character designer for the game.
The limited edition version of the game was released in September 2000. The package contained the game, the novel, a guidebook, and a Neo Geo Pocket Color console.
