The High Priest is a playable special class in Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis. It is exclusive to Rictor Lasanti.
Recruitment[]
After the battle at Urodela during Chapter 1, choose "It doesn't seem right" when prompted. He'll join after the siege of Ostorea. This will also make Cybil Alinda unavailable for the rest of the game.
Overview[]
- Favored Weapon: Thrusting Sword.
- Favored Armor: Robes.
The High Priest is Rictor's exclusive class, replacing the Priest in class selection. If compared to the generic Priest, this class has lesser INT growths and slightly worse Move score, but better HP and STR growths, and access to the Ignis Fatuus summon.
A point of contention among players whenether he or the Sorceress is a better unit, since both are mutually exclusive. The Sorceress has better MP and INT, plus access to many more spells, including Fiend's Grip, but has worse durability and cannot use Virtue spells; in turn, the High Priest has better HP and STR, plus access to valuable spells such as Resurrection and Divine Radiance, and is one of the only units capable of using Ignis Fatuus (the others being the Witch♥ and Shaman), and the best at using it due to elemental matchup.
This class growths make him good at both melee and magic combat, however if the player wants to optimize his magic damage it's better for him to wield staves and wands instead of rapiers; if the player wants to employ him as support only, it's suggested to give him shields instead, since most Virtue spells are not affected by INT.
As a special character, Rictor cannot earn the Relix's Emblem and The Cycle of Life emblems.
