Cain (ケイン), is a playable character in Legend of Ogre Battle Gaiden: Prince of Zenobia.
He is a close friend to the young Tristan, who he looks up to like older brother. Together, the two boys train under the knight Estrada, eventually forming the core of a Volunteer Army, targeting bandits terrorizing the area.
Cain is a bit more emotional and talkative than the reserved and thoughtful Tristan. In the latter half of the story, the older Cain shows a bit more level-headed wisdom, but his honest and righteous streak remains. A dying wish of his mentor Estrada was for Cain to take his place as Tristan's protector. Cain never stops honoring that pledge.
Gameplay[]
Cain specializes in elemental magic, with the unique class of Varlet. His class is automatically promoted twice at fixed points in the story.
Cain is recruited from Stage 1, and cannot be moved from Tristan's unit. He is best placed in the back row with Nana (another character permanently in Tristan's unit), where the pair can unleash target all spells.
