Baldwin Glendale is a non-playable character in Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber. He is a member of the Caliginous Order, younger brother to Richard Glendale, and son of the late Godfrey Glendale.
He presents Mari Callan as a concubine to Prince Yumil, but Yumil refuses to treat her as one, and they develop a deep relationship. It was also Baldwin who pressures Godeslas Branic into sacrificing his family to gain the power of Ogres. Baldwin eventually becomes fed up living in his brother's shadow, and assassinates him for his own personal ambitions.
After Danika is defeated and Mari stabs herself and gives birth, the demon child, suggested to be Rashidi reincarnated, murders Baldwin.
In battle, Baldwin wields Anbicion, the iconic sword of Lanselot Tartaros, but how it came into his possession is never explained.
Personality[]
Baldwin is an intimidating and manipulative figure. On the surface he is quite dignified and arrogant, but can get hot-headed and vindictive when he loses control of the situation. He is the more emotional of the two Glendale brothers.
Baldwin harbors an inferiority complex over being unfavorably compared to his exalted brother and father. This spills over into a secret ambition to seize the ultimate power for himself and obtain a godlike status (betraying his brother, who seeks the power for Lodis).
