Bakram-Valerian Kingdom flag
The Bakram-Valerian Kingdom was a nation engaged in the Heim Conflict during the events of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. It is the primary nation of the Bakram clan.
Formation[]
Following the sudden disappearance of King Dorgalua of the Kingdom of Valeria, a succession crisis erupted which divided the isles. The Bakram-Valerian Kingdom was one of the nations forged in the chaos.
Based in the royal capital of Heim, the Kingdom was established by Brantyn Morne, an exarch of the Order of Philaha. Brantyn was able to consolidate power with backing from the noble and wealthy classes and install himself as Regent of the Kingdom. The official hier to the throne was traced through the lineage of the late Queen Vernotta, but due to their youth, Brantyn ruled in their stead.
In order to match the military might of the larger Kingdom of Galgastan, Brantyn beseeched support from the Holy Lodissian Empire to the north. Lodis in turn dispatched their Dark Knights, and allowed the Kingdom to run semi-autonomously under their watch.
Many Bakram longed for the reinstatement of the former monarchy. A revolutionary group, the Valerian Liberation Front, was composed of defectors opposing Brantyn's rule.
The Bakram-Valerian territory extended westward from Heim to Phidoch Castle, spanning the north-eastern half of the Valerian Isles.
Downfall[]
The Kingdom's stability wavered upon the emergence of King Dorgalua's heir, Princess Versalia. Brantyn refused to cede power, against growing pressure from Lodis and public unrest.
Eventually, the Kingdom was invaded and conquered by the Wallister Resistance. During the fall of Heim, Brantyn was abandoned by Lodis, and killed in battle with the Resistance. The Bakram would become unified with the Galgastani and Walister as the reconstituted Kingdom of Valeria, under the reign of Queen Versalia.
